MacDonald Hall Construction Set to Begin

first_imgConstruction is set to begin on a new group home to replaceMacDonald Hall in Inverness County, Tourism and Culture MinisterRodney MacDonald announced today, July 30, on behalf of CommunityServices Minister, David Morse. “The new MacDonald Hall has been designed to meet residents’needs and will be an important addition to our community,” saidMr. MacDonald. “This new centre will ensure that MacDonald Hallresidents will not only be able to stay in their home communitybut live in the comfort of a brand-new home, with family andfriends close by.” The new home will be built adjacent to the existing MacDonaldHall and will offer enhanced accessibility, home-like comfortsand ample green space for residents. The estimated capital costsare about $600,000. The home will accommodate residents currentlyat MacDonald Hall. MacDonald Hall is funded under the Community Supports for Adultsprogram, which provides a wide range of services for adults withdisabilities who need support to live in the community. Thoseservices include group homes, small-option homes, adultresidential centres, supervised apartments and adult servicecentres. -30-last_img
